How many visits are needed for Invisalign?
At least three physical visits are necessary. However, the general process is as follows:
Consultation (Free)/Examination (190 CHF with 30% discount for new patients)
At Alpine Smiles, we combine consultation and examination whenever you want, to fully evaluate your dental health and verify that there are no obstacles to starting treatment. During the consultation, we will discuss your treatment options in detail, providing you with all the information you need to make an informed decision.
We only use high-quality digital scanners, such as the iTero Lumina, which offer precise tooth registration with a faster and more comfortable experience than traditional impressions. Unlike some clinics that use outdated materials, at Alpine Smiles you'll benefit from the most advanced technology for a hassle-free experience.
We'll provide you with a clear and transparent cost plan, with no hidden fees, and we'll collect digital x-rays and clinical photographs to plan your treatment accurately.
If you decide to proceed, a non-refundable deposit of 1,500 CHF is required, which will be deducted from the total cost of the treatment. With this commitment, we will begin designing your personalized Invisalign treatment plan.
The following month, our Diamond Providers create a detailed plan based on the diagnostic data collected, to ensure that it is optimized for your needs. One month after your first visit, you will receive the aligners and you will officially begin your journey to a new smile.
Start of treatment (One month later: Attachments, IPR, Chewies, Elastics)
During this appointment, we will apply attachments, small transparent buttons on the teeth, which guide the dental movement and keep the aligners in place. You will also receive the chewies, tools to ensure proper alignment of the aligners after meals.
If necessary, we may perform Interproximal Reduction (IPR), a painless technique to create space between teeth, minimizing tooth extraction. For complex treatments, you may need rubber bands to correct the bite, and we'll show you how to use them properly.
We'll also teach you how to insert/remove aligners, maintain excellent hygiene, and use Virtual Care monitoring. This appointment prepares you to face treatment with confidence.
Follow-up visits (Every 8—12 weeks)
At Alpine Smiles, we make sure your Invisalign journey goes smoothly. During visits:
• We verify the movement of the teeth with advanced 3D software.
• We make minor changes if necessary.
• We give you tips to stay motivated.
With weekly scans from home, we monitor your progress and help you keep your treatment on schedule.
Conclusion or additional aligner
During the last follow-up visit, we will evaluate if the result has been achieved. If everything is satisfactory, we will schedule the removal of the attachments and the scan for the Vivera retainers, ready in about two weeks. If further changes are needed, we will take new impressions and produce additional aligners in 3—4 weeks.
Follow-up and maintenance
Maintaining your new smile is crucial. We recommend a follow-up visit after six months and annual checks for hygiene and prevention. Vivera retainers need to be replaced every 2—5 years, while fixed retainers need regular checks.
The Alpine Smiles team is committed to keeping your smile perfect, accompanying you every step of the way!
We will contact you immediately and set a date for your consultation.
