Payment Methods & Financing
At Alpine Smiles, we offer a wide range of payment methods to make dental care as accessible and stress-free as possible.
You can pay using credit or debit cards, receive an invoice for bank transfer, or pay in cash. We also accept digital payment solutions such as TWINT and cryptocurrency. Members of the MyLugano program may also use their MyLugano benefits where applicable. For patients who prefer to spread costs over time, flexible financing options may be available, subject to individual circumstances and external credit assessment.
For larger treatments such as Invisalign, veneers, or implant dentistry, we are happy to discuss suitable financing solutions during your consultation. If the cost of treatment feels difficult to manage in a single visit, we can explore alternative approaches together, including phased treatment plans when clinically appropriate.
Our priority is to ensure you receive the care you need without unnecessary financial stress or delays.
Insurance
You pay for the treatment in advance and then manage any reimbursements with your insurer according to their guidelines. Patients are responsible for managing their insurance reimbursement independently. If you are eligible for coverage or have questions, we recommend that you contact your insurer for more details.
Please keep in mind that Alpine Smiles does not provide insurance services and cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement. Insurance eligibility, benefits, and reimbursements are determined solely by the respective insurance provider.
Over 22 years
In Switzerland, dental treatments are generally not covered by health insurance once you are over 22, and most procedures are therefore paid for privately.
Less than 22 years old
Some health insurance plans may offer partial or full coverage for dental treatments for patients under 22. Coverage depends on the individual insurance policy, and we recommend contacting your insurer directly to confirm eligibility and reimbursement details.
Orthodontic insurance options up to age 25 (via external providers)
In certain situations, obtaining orthodontic insurance through standard channels may no longer be possible once treatment has been recommended. Some independent insurance providers in Switzerland offer alternative solutions in these cases.
One example is DentaHelp, which collaborates with various Swiss health insurers and may allow coverage for existing dental misalignments or ongoing orthodontic treatments, subject to eligibility and policy terms.According to information provided by the insurer, potential benefits may include:
• Coverage of upcoming and ongoing treatments
• No dental certificate is required
• Cost coverage between 50% and 75%.
• No waiting period - treatment can start immediately
• Can be used as a supplement to existing coverage (up to 100% reimbursement of costs)
• At least 10,000 CHF insured per year
• Available up to the age of 25
AINF - Accident insurance
AINF, or Accident Insurance (Accident Insurance), is the compulsory accident insurance in Switzerland that covers medical expenses and rehabilitation following accidents, generally managed through the national social security system. This coverage often extends to work-related and non-work-related injuries, depending on employment status. It covers work-related and non-work-related injuries of employees, paid by employers, and includes medical care and rehabilitation.
Student Discount
We offer a 10% student discount on general dental treatments for students enrolled in post-secondary or higher education (such as universities, universities of applied sciences, or equivalent institutions). The discount applies to general dental treatments including examinations, fillings, wisdom tooth treatments, crowns, root canal treatments, and emergency care.
The student discount does not apply to orthodontic treatments or fixed-price treatment packages, such as Invisalign, nor to promotional offers or external costs such as laboratory fees. It also does not apply to services already offered at a fixed or reduced price. A valid student ID or proof of enrolment must be presented before treatment. Retroactive discounts cannot be applied.
